MADISON, Wis. — CUNA announced the winners of the national 2013 Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award and the Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award.
The awards, a veritable showcase of the credit union difference, are the culmination of statewide awards run by the leagues, with the top winners at the state level going on to compete at the national level.
Each award's namesake is a key figure in credit union history. Dora Maxwell was an original signer of CUNA's constitution who also organized hundreds of credit unions throughout the U.S. while also developing volunteer groups to work on behalf of the poor.
