COLUMBUS, Ohio—A Columbus CU member faces one count of making terroristic threats after repeatedly harassing staff at TIC FCU here.
Herman Wire today pleaded not guilty to the charge in a Columbus courtroom on Thursday. According to testimony, Wire had been threatening employees at the CU's 13th Street location for several weeks, saying "heads will roll" and mentioning a vast weapons collection.
Court records allege that Wire also had been leaving staff voice mails warning of impending violence. A credit union employee testified he had "circular conversations" with Wire.
Police said in court that the $266 million TIC FCU added security, including hiring off-duty officers, in preparation for Wire's trips to the branch. Wire has several accounts at TIC and he has repeatedly alleged the credit union is "stealing his money."
Wire did not make a statement in court.
