MOBILE, Ala.-A member of Navigator CU who spent more than $100,000 the CU accidentally deposited into her account will be able to serve probation with no prison time as she repays the money, a federal judge decided yesterday.

Terica Crook, 33, admitted she made ATM withdrawals and check card purchases at area stores totaling $101,918 from August 2004 until Aug. 30, 2007, after the credit union erroneously deposit the funds in her account.
Although sentencing guidelines called for at least 10 months in prison, the judge agreed with the public defender that putting Crook behind bars would serve no purpose. Instead, the judge sentenced Crook to five years' probation and ordered her to pay back the money at $200 a month.
