Member Service Rep At San Mateo CU Charged With Stealing $73,000

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A former member service representative at San Mateo CU faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing more than $73,000 from at least two members.

The rep, identified as Arcelia Aguilar, 27, apparently took the money from members she had become familiar with over time, according to authorities. The victims were transferring large sums of money from one account to another but Aguilar was not completing the transactions and did not give the victims receipts of the deposits.

Police executed a search warrant of her home and found bank records that confirmed funds were deposited into her own account.

The incidents took place during June and July of 2009.
