MECHANICSBURG, Penn. – Members 1st FCU will open its 34th branch today, the fifth new branch since last’s court decision striking down the credit union’s vast expansion plans.
The $1.7 billion credit union has hardly paused despite last year’s legal setback, in which a federal court struck down a six-county community charter granted by NCUA. Instead of scaling back, it has reverted to a multiple group charter that serves more than 1,000 select groups.
The new branch in Hanover offers increased convenience in serving the credit union's members in the Hanover area and features lobby and drive-through service (three lanes), free coin counter for members, drive-up ATM and security boxes.
