AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - (01/23/06) Members of CornerstoneCommunity Financial are profiting nicely from the impendingnational spotlight that will accompany professionalfootballs Super Bowl, to be staged a stones throwfrom here next week at Ford Field. The $140 million credit union,known until last year as Motor Parts FCU, has jacked up the ratesits CD rates as part of a Score BIG With Our Rates,promotion tied in with the annual football championship game. Thepromotion was kicked off Nov. 1 and has attracted more than $1.3million in new deposits since then, according to Heather Hall,marketing director for Cornerstone Community Financial. Wethought it might be kind of fun for our employees and generate someinterest from our members, Hall told The Credit UnionJournal of the Super Bowl promo. To hype the campaign, employeeshave been wearing Super Bowl XL tee-shirts every other Friday andthe credit union footballs with its logo and stadiumblankets.
