Almost 100,000 members of MidFlorida FCU have received a rare mid-year bonus from their credit union-a $10 check.
The credit union sent the ten-spots to each of its members-a total of $1 million-to celebrate hitting the $1 billion mark in assets. The special bonus was restricted to members in good standing as of April 30, with one check issued per Social Security number.
Only primary members received payments. MidFlorida was chartered in 1954 with 34 members who pooled $520 in deposits.
It now has more than 110,000 members throughout central Florida. Pushing it over the $1 billion mark was its merger with Regional Community FCU.
