Michigan CU, Bank Settle Differences Over Name

LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. – Michigan First Credit Union and First Michigan Bank, of Troy, Mich., said they have amicably resolved a trademark dispute between the two institutions over the similarities of their names.

The $565-million CU and the bank said judicial proceedings related to the dispute have been settled, the terms of which are confidential according to both parties.
