MUSKEGON, Mich. – Five area credit unions participated in the Annual Muskegon Walk for Diabetes on June 5, raising almost $10,000.
The credit unions are: Family Financial CU, First General FCU, Lakeshore FCU, Service 1 FCU and Shawbox FCU.
In the past five years, Muskegon-area credit unions have raised more than $30,000 for the charity. All of the money donated for Muskegon's Walk for Diabetes stays in Muskegon County.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.
After several quarters of slumping investment banking and trading fees, the Charlotte, North Carolina-based company reported a big uptick from that division, which helped compensate for a large decline in net interest income.
