LIVONIA, Mich. Co-op Services CU will pick up four branches, including one-drive-thru, with the proposed combination of Rivers Edge Community CU, creating a $500 million credit union with 12 branches and 61,000 members in metro Detroit, the two credit unions announced this morning.
“Our credit unions are very similar. Both have a long history and strong commitment to providing members with the best in financial products and services available,” said Anthony Carnarvon, president of Co-op Services, a $414 million credit union located outside of Detroit.
Rivers Edge Community is a healthy $95 million credit union serving 15 communities throughout the Rouge River.
Pending member and regulatory approval, which is expected to occur by the end of this year, the credit unions will retain the name of Co-op Services CU.
