MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community CU announced the retirement of Paul Assenmacher as CEO next April, after 40 years with the now-$143 million credit union.
Assenmacher will be succeeded as CEO by Mike Newman, currently executive vice president and chief operating officer, who has been with the credit union since 1983.
Assenmacher began his career with the credit union in 1972 when it had just eight employees, 2,800 members and $4 million in assets. It now has 68 employees and more than 30,000 members.
