Mortgage Rates Hold Steady

McLEAN, Va. – Mortgage rates remained unchanged this week after surging last week, amid continuing turbulence in the financial markets, according to Freddie Mac.

The average for the fixed-rate, 30-year loan remained almost the same as last week, 6.10%, compared to 6.09% last week; while the average for the 15-year, fixed-rate mortgage also tipped up a single basis point, to 5.78%.

ARM rates also held steady, with the average for the five-year ARM dipping slightly to 6% this week, from 6.02% last week; and the average for the one-year ARM unchanged at 5.16%.
