McLEAN, Va. – Long-term mortgage rates declined slightly this week, with the benchmark 30-year rate dipping below 5% again, according to Freddie Mac.

The average for the 30-year, fixed-rate loans fell to 4.98% this week, from 5.03% last week; while the average for 15-year, fixed-rate mortgages dipped to 4.40%, from 4.46%.
ARM rates also moved lower, as the average for the five-year ARM fell to 4.35%, from 4.42%; and the average for the one-year ARM declined to 4.47%, from 4.57%.
