McLEAN, Va. – Home loan rates tipped down again this week near all-time lows, according to Freddie Mac.

The average for the benchmark 30-year, fixed-rate loan dipped to 4.80% this week, from 4.82% last week; while the average for the 15-year, fixed-rate mortgage held steady at 4.48%.
Short-term rates moved lower, with the average for the five-year ARM inching downwards to 4.85%, from 4.88%; and the average for the one-year ARM slipping to 4.82%, from 4.91%.
"Although long-term mortgage rates eased slightly this week, ARM rates remain elevated relative to those fixed-rate mortgages," said Frank Nothaft, chief economist for Freddie Mac.
