LOVELAND, Colo. - (06/22/06) A mother was reunited with hertwo-year-old son Tuesday afternoon, minutes after police captured aman who had stolen her car with the infant in it as she wasstopping to cash a check at her credit union. The woman, who wasunidentified, wanted to cash a check at big Thompson FCU and gotout of the car to fetch the young boy, when the assailant forcedher to give up her keys and fled with the car. The woman thenchased the carjacker down the street yelling, My baby Mybaby , according to an eyewitness. The eyewitness grabbedthe woman and gave chase in his own car at speeds up to 100 milesan hour, calling 911 when they cornered the carjacker in thevictims car. Police eventually joined the chase and capturedthe fleeing vehicle with the infant still safe in his car seat. Alocal man, identified as 24-year-old Edward Orr, was arrested atthe scene.
