Mountain America CU Pilots Long-Term Care Insurance

SALT LAKE CITY – Mountain America CU announced today its insurance CUSO has signed with Intermountain Insurance Advisory Group to provide its members with long-term care insurance products and services, one of the first credit unions to enter the market.

The long-term care products will cover members or their family in the event that they are diagnosed with a prolonged physical illness, disability or cognitive impairment and need care in a nursing home or assisted living facility.

“Mountain America is always looking for ways to help members protect their financial security, and we saw a real need for long-term care coverage, especially for our senior members,” said Gene Erickson, chief operating officer for Mountain America Insurance Services, the $2.8 billion credit union’s wholly owned CUSO.

The new product is one of many that will be rolled out to the community in 2011. In addition to long-term care insurance, Mountain America Insurance Services offers members a comprehensive line of insurance products, including auto, life, homeowner, renter, business, umbrella coverage and more.
