NEW YORK – Brooklyn native and former New York Mets relief pitcher John Franco has reached a long-term agreement with Municipal CU to continue as its official spokesperson.
Franco, the first spokesperson in the credit union’s 95-year history, began his duties with Municipal in January.
Franco will continue to be featured in the $1.7-billion credit union’s advertising campaign on television and in other media, as well as continue to make public appearances on behalf of Municipal.
Franco, a major league pitcher for 22 seasons, recently was recognized by Mayor Bloomberg as the “Son of New York City Baseball.” The former New York Met, who was drafted out of St. John’s University and is a graduate of Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, said his unique New York story is a story that will continue to resonate with both MCU members and New Yorkers as a whole.
