Navigator CU Organizes Fundraiser To Help Clean Up Gulf Oil Spill

PASCAGOULA, Miss. – In an effort to raise support for the ongoing Gulf oil spill clean up and restoration, Navigator CU created the Coast Aid benefit concert.

Last Thursday’s fundraiser at the Soul Kitchen in Mobile, Ala., featured country favorite Colt Ford, Mobile natives Grayson Capps and the Stumpknockers, and Pascagoula natives The Fillmore Project. It had more than 600 attendants, and was emceed by the credit unions’ Young & Free Mississippi spokesperson Sarah Simpkins.

Over the past month, nearly 1,200 individuals voted for their favorite oil spill relief organization at Navigator's Facebook page. The Audubon Society won the contest and received a $5,000 donation at last week’s concert.
