The $47-billion credit union is expected to announce a $3 million deal for the additional property, with the state ready to throw in as much as $1.6 million in incentives to the project.

The land is owned by the Langley Bell 4-H Agricultural Center. The land sale already has been approved by the 4-H Foundation, a group of adults who oversee the operation and administration of the Langley Bell Center. But the deal still must be approved by individual 4-H Clubs, called county councils. The 21 councils include about 300 students ages five to 18.

The credit union giant last week announced plans to add as many as 600 employees to its 2,200-member workforce here during the next year, bringing the current campus to its maximum of 3,000 employees. If the sale goes through, the credit union could add thousands more employees over the next two decades.
