NCUA Grants Maui FCU Island-Wide Charter

KAHULUI, Hawaii  – NCUA has approved an application from Maui FCU, which serves more than 50 select groups on the Hawaiian island, to serve all of the island’s 145,000 population.

Several credit unions are authorized to serve the island of Oahu and the Honolulu metro area, but this is believed to be the first time NCUA has approved a charter covering all of Maui.

The one-time Maui Pineapple Company employees’ credit union has $61 million in assets and 26,000 members.
