ALEXANDRIA, Va. — New NCUA Board member Rick Metsger has hired Michael Radway, a former congressional staffer who helped draft HR 1151, the landmark 1998 CU Membership Access Act, as his top policy advisor Friday, NCUA announced.
Radway is currently senior director of government relations for Knowledge Universe, an early education and after-school education provider. He will begin his new position in January.
A credit union member since college, Radway has an extensive background in financial services. He served as professional staff to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Banking and Financial Services and played a key role in the passage of HR 1151. He also served as Chairman and Public Interest Director for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle and as chairman of the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks.
Additionally, he has served as president of the Early Care and Education Consortium, a national alliance of early education providers. Radway holds a degree in political science from Yale University.
