WILLISTON, Vt. – New England Federal Credit Union said CEO David T. Bard is retiring in January after 24 years of service, and current COO John J. Dwyer Jr. will succeed him as the credit union’s new CEO.
During Bard’s tenure, NEFCU has grown from a staff of 30 employees working out of a single branch to 170 employees and seven branches. Similarly, assets grew from $48 million in 1986 to $740 million today.
As part of the credit union’s transition plan, Dwyer, who started working at NEFCU just one year after Bard in 1987, was named president and COO in 2006.
