New Apps for iPhone from CO-OP, PSCU

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — The influence of Apple Computer's iPhone on the delivery of financial services continues to be evident with two major credit union service providers rolling out "apps" for the iPhone recently. CO-OP Financial Services has added the device as a means of accessing CO-OP's mobile banking option, which is integrated with CO-OP's Next Generation Network.

Also releasing an application for the iPhone, in addition to the iPod Touch, is St. Petersburg, Fla.-based PSCU Financial Services, which is offering access to its mBanking platform.

In both cases, consumers can download the app from Apple

"Adoption of mobile banking services is essential for credit unions to attract and retain members, especially among the young, tech savvy, high income, upwardly mobile and the underserved," said Stan Hollen, president/CEO of CO-OP Financial Services.
