New CEOs Announced for Mich., Penn. CUs

Credit unions based in Jackson, Mich. and Beaver, Penn. have both announced changes at the top.

At CP Federal CU, a $410 million-asset institution based in Jackson, Mich., the board of directors has named Chrissy Siders as the credit union's next president and CEO, succeeding John Crist, who will retire on July 1, 2017.

Crist has served CP FCU for more than 43 years as a volunteer supervisory committee member, board member and board chairman. He became president/CEO in 1997 after working 29 years at Consumers Energy.

"It has been a true honor to serve the members of CP Federal Credit Union and lead the credit union to be one of Jackson's most successful locally owned financial institutions," Crist said in a statement.

Siders joined CP FCU in 1998 as a teller and subsequently worked in various departments, including accounting, compliance and risk management, eventually becoming vice president of risk management and specialized lending.

Siders received her Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University in criminal justice and Master's Degree in business administration from Spring Arbor University.

Separately, West-Aircomm Federal Credit Union, a $212 million institution based in Beaver, Pa., announced that Lynn Stephenson is its new CEO. She succeeds Ray Brunner, who has retired.

When Brunner was first hired to run the credit union in 1985, it had $25 million in assets and no capital. Since that time, Brunner grew the credit union to over $200 million in assets and $18 million in capital.

Stephenson is a 35-year employee of West-Aircomm FCU. She was originally hired in 1982 as a loan clerk and has since worked in various positions, including assistant director of lending, director of lending, and most recently, executive vice president.

"As CEO, I look forward to continuing to provide the members of West-Aircomm Federal Credit Union with the quality financial products at competitive prices in the same friendly and professional manner to which they are accustomed," she said.
