WESCOM CU CUSTOMIZED CARDS: THEY’RE ‘ALLABOUTME’
PASADENA, Calif.–Wescom CU said 2,500 of its members already have created their own personalized credit cards in the first two months of its “AllAboutMe” custom cards program.
Cardholders can customize their cards with a personal image or photo, or choose from a range of galleries under the program, provided by Serverside.
At least one other credit union, America First CU in Ogden, Utah, is offering Serverside’s AllAboutMe custom cards program.
CHEVRON FCU JOINS ALLPOINT ATM NETWORK
OAKLAND, Calif.–Chevron FCU yesterday said it has joined the Allpoint ATM network of 50,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide.
The deal will give members of the $1.2 billion credit union access to 8,500 Allpoint machines in California.
Allpoint is a wholly owned unit of Cardtronics Inc.
SERVICE CU SUPPORTS AIR FORCE MEMORIAL
PORTSMOUTH, N.H.–Service CU said it is increasing its support to New Hampshire chapters of the Air Force Sergeants Association and the Air Force Association with a $10,000 donation, making the credit union the largest contributor to the U.S. Air Force memorial with a total contribution of $30,000.
Last year, the $1-billion credit union presented the AFSA and the AFA with a check of $15,000 for the NH Air Force Memorial Fund, bringing its total donation to $20,000. The credit union launched the campaign in February 2007 with $5,000.
The AFSA and AFA are building a memorial at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen to honor all New Hampshire men and women who have served in the Air Force. A groundbreaking ceremony for the memorial is planned for Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11.
WHITE CROWN FCU NAMES NEW CEO
DENVER–White Crown FCU announced it has hired Kerry Spradling, an executive with 17 years of credit union experience, as its new CEO.
Spradling formerly was chief operating officer of Colorado CU. He started his new job June 2.
White Crown FCU was chartered in 1951 and has assets of approximately $47 million. Membership is available to employees of more than 100 companies, as well as those who live or work in the greater Denver area.
SOUTH JERSEY PLEDGES $75,000 TO SCHOLARSHIP FUND
DEPTFORD, N.J.–South Jersey FCU said it has agreed to endow $75,000 over the next 10 years to the Parada San Juan Bautista scholarship fund in nearby Camden.
The Parada fund awards four scholarships annually to Camden students of Puerto Rican descent–two $4,000 scholarships and two $2,000 scholarships, payable over four years.
The gift was announced at Parada’s annual Business & Professional Reception last month.
S1 CORP, CLICKATELL TEAM UP ON-DEMAND TEXT BANKING
ATLANTA–S1 Corp. said it has teamed with Clickatell to provide on-demand, text-based mobile services through the S1 Enterprise and Postilion Internet Banking solutions.
S1 Enterprise and Postilion customers will be able to take advantage of the on-demand capabilities of SMS (text message) banking and payments services, including account balance inquiries, funds transfers, account alerts and person-to-person (P2P) payments.
The two-way SMS service enables users to proactively manage their finances and monitor potential fraud via their mobile phones. Clickatell’s global messaging gateway delivers transactions and alerts to and from cell phones over 700 networks in more than 200 countries.
