North Carolina Members CU's Long-Time CEO Braswell to Retire

Members Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C., announced that longtime President and CEO Jack Braswell will retire in September.

Braswell has served as MCU's president and CEO since 1991, and Bob Donely, the credit union's current executive vice president, will succeed him. Donely, who joined MCU in 1995, will immediately assume additional responsibilities and the title of chief operating officer, and he will be named president and CEO on Sept. 8.

Braswell started his career with MCU in 1979 as treasurer. During his tenure as president and CEO, MCU has grown from $59 million to $265 million in assets and membership has increased from 26,000 to 49,000 members, according to a statement.

Braswell has sat on MCU's Board of Directors for 36 years and served on the boards of North Carolina Credit Union League, First Carolina Corporate Credit Union and the Northwest Chapter.
