The expansion will increase the number of beds in the Iredell County Gordon Hospice House to 15 from nine. The House, the only provider of hospice in-patient services in the county, serves patients who are acutely ill with significant clinical needs and no longer can be cared for in their own homes.

The new wing is scheduled for completion in spring 2011 and will provide 7,780 square feet of additional patient space.
