RALEIGH, N.C. State Employees’ CU said its “Stache your cash!” promotions helped raise $3.15 million in new deposits during its annual Youth Saving Challenge April 22 to 26.
SECU challenged its young FAT CAT and teen Zard members to “stache” a deposit into their share account during Youth Week. Participating accountholders were automatically entered into a random drawing for a Nook HD Tablet, with one FAT CAT and one Zard winner.
Staff in SECU’s 248 branches promoted the campaign with eye-catching displays, the credit union said. SECU staff also took the time to visit local schools and teach financial education concepts. During the challenge, SECU opened 612 new youth accounts and more than 17,300 youth deposited $3.15 million throughout the week.
