MASON CITY, Iowa – North Iowa CU was granted a judgment for foreclosure against an Elks Lodge and the Elks building will be sold at a sheriff’s sale later this summer.
The Iowa Department of Revenue will be first in line to recoup taxes before the credit union can receive proceeds from the sale. The sale can be held 60 days from the date of judgment.
The lodge defaulted on its promissory note owed $33,325 plus interest to the credit union, and with court fees the debt is over $36,000, according to court documents.
