Northern Communities CU Appoints New CEO

Trina Hoff, EVP at Duluth, Minn.-based Northern Communities CU, has been announced as the next CEO at the $72 million-asset credit union, succeeding Larry Champeaux, who is set to retire on Dec. 2.

Hoff has worked for Northern Communities CU for the past 22 years, mostly stationed in Duluth. She "has a long history with our credit union and we believe that she will provide excellent leadership," Grant Forsyth, the credit union's chairman, said in a press release Monday.

Champeaux called his successor "a young professional [with] over 20 years of experience at the credit union. To have that combination of experience and youth...I think the credit union is in great hands moving forward."

Champeaux, who has worked in the credit union industry for 28 years, joined Northern Communities in 2008.
