HERNDON, Va. – Northwest FCU said its Northwest FCU Foundation awarded more than $87,000 in scholarships at its annual scholarship awards ceremony and luncheon, honoring the 2009 scholarship winners.

Fifteen students were recipients of the $5,000 Ben DeFelice Scholarship. Additionally, five students received the $2,500 Central Intelligence Retirees CIRA Scholarship-sponsored by the Central Intelligence Agency’s Retirees Association.
The Foundation awarded $239,000 since the scholarship program’s first recipients were honored in 2005.
