Mortgage Transparency Improved
RESTON, Va.-MERSCORP has unveiled a program it says will inform borrowers of changes to the owner of their loan, bringing greater transparency and accountability to the mortgage lending process as called for by The Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009. MERS has a repository of information on more than 60 million loans registered by lenders on its system. The company said its new program will inform borrowers of future changes to the investor and automatically inform the borrower of loan ownership changes.
