Office Manager, Husband Guilty Of Faked $210,000 CU Robbery

WORCESTER, Mass. – The former officer manager for Wyman-Gordon FCU and her husband were found guilty of stealing more than $210,000 from the credit union by staging a 2002 robbery.

George Labadie and Susan Carcieri are scheduled to be sentenced next Monday after being found guilty in Worcester Superior Court on Tuesday.

The first hitch in their plan occurred when police arrived at the credit union, where they found Carcieri loosely bound to a chair. The two were arrested after police, acting on a tip from neighbors of the two, found most of the stolen credit union cash hidden in the aluminum siding at their home.

Authorities say the couple stole the money because they faced financial difficulties.

Throughout the trial the couple maintained their innocence and said they kept large sums of cash in their home.
