TULSA, Okla. A member of the “Hoover Crips” street gang on Wednesday was sentenced to 33 years and five months in prison for his role in a series of robberies, including the Sept. 16, 2011, heist at Tulsa Municipal Employees FCU of $164,000.
Vernon Hill, 27, was ordered by U.S. District Judge James Payne to contribute toward more than $52,000 in restitution and to be under court supervision for five years after his eventual release from prison.
The men went into the credit union wearing masks, carrying guns, shouting orders, jumping over the counter, and even fired a shot that broke a glass partition near a teller, before they headed for the vault. Three accomplices also were convicted in the credit union job.
