One-Time Major League Reliever Signed As Municipal CU’s Pitchman

NEW YORK – Municipal CU will launch a series of TV commercials Monday featuring John Franco, the longtime relief pitcher for the New York Mets, as the credit union’s new spokesman.

Franco, who holds the major league record for saves by a left-hander (424), will be featured on television and other media and will make public appearances on behalf of the $1.6 billion credit union. Franco spent 22 years in the big leagues, pitching for the Mets and for the Cincinnati Reds.

The Brooklyn native has a long history with the credit union, as his father was a city employee and Municipal member. “MCU was there for my dad to help him reach his financial goals, which in turn, helped me achieve my dream of playing professional baseball,” said the credit union’s new pitchman.

Municipal’s new ad campaign was created by Vanguard Direct in New York City.
