Seattle Metro is offering cash prizes from $500 to $5,000 as part of "Operation: Cooperation," which seeks to reward what it calls "creative projects that answer the question of 'How they come together and share a resource to achieve a goal."

As part of the project, SMCU and Reel Grrls, a Seattle-based after-school media and technology training program that seeks to empower girls to critique media images and to gain media technology skills, will host a Resource Day at the Reel Grrls Studios in downtown Seattle at which groups can come perform or share their creative project. The projects will be filmed and photographed and uploaded to http://opcoop.coop.

All submissions will be narrowed down by a panel of judges and starting Nov. 17, the public can vote on their favorite group. SMCU will announce four winners of the Cooperative Spirit awards Nov. 23.
