(The Credit Union Association of Oregon (CUAO) and three Oregon credit unions testified in support of two state financial education bills last week. One bill would require the state to create a model curriculum for financial literacy and then encourage schools to adopt the curriculum, the other would direct the Department of Education to prepare a financial education program and require school districts to provide financial education instruction in secondary schools.

The CUAO's Pamela Leavitt testified, as did Kerrie Davis of Rogue FCU, Claudine Oriani of OSU FCU, and Cori Frauendiener of Marion & Polk Schools CU.
