PORTLAND, Ore. – The owners of Melanie Square, a 7-acre commercial property that is home to Rite Aid, a bowling alley and other businesses, on Wednesday filed for bankruptcy protection in Portland to while it renegotiates with its main lender, Farmers Insurance Group FCU.
Neal Jones of Arizona, who owns Melanie Square Limited Liability Co., said the company filed Chapter 11 to renegotiate repayment of a $4.1 million loan to the credit union.
It was the second Chapter 11 filing the company has made inside of three years.
