Oregon CUs Generate $375K For Hospital

Credit Unions for Kids held a raffle drawing for a new car in the lobby of Doernbecher Children's Hospital here, after which it presented a check for $126,000 to the hospital representing funds raised by the raffle. The funds will also go to the pediatric units at Sacred heart Medical Center in Eugene, Ore., and Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Ore. Caitlin Wiens, a patient at Doernbecher, drew the winning ticket, which was held by Christine Cook, an employee of Portland Teachers CU. Cook has the option of choosing any Toyota, Honda, GMC or Subaru vehicle. The prize was donated by Autosolution. The $126,000-check followed a presentation of another check for $250,000, representing funds raised by the Hank and Moose golf tournament.
