OUR Credit Union in Michigan names new CEO

OUR Credit Union in Royal Oak, Michigan, named Darren Cameron as the company’s new president and CEO.

He replaces Tina Dix, who will retire in July.

The $384 million-asset credit union said in a press release Thursday that Cameron was most recently senior vice president at Vibe Credit Union in Novi, Michigan.

He also has more than 25 years of financial management and executive leadership experience.

“Upon my first meeting with the board, I felt an immediate connection with OUR Credit Union,” Cameron said in the press release. “This has been a career aspiration of mine for many years.”

The credit union retained Humanidei + O’Rourke to find its next chief executive.

“Darren’s leadership, commitment to the credit union movement and passion for exemplifying

our ‘people helping people’ vision will undoubtedly strengthen the relationship we have

with our members and community,” said Brian Cook, OUR CU’s immediate past board chairman in the press release.

Dix began her career at the credit union as a teller and loan officer in 1983. She held various management roles before becoming CEO in 2013.

OUR Credit Union earned $268,000 in the first three months of 2022, a 2% decrease compared to a year earlier, according to call report data from the National Credit Union Administration.
