Pasadena FCU Celebrates 75 Years With 90-Foot Mural

PASADENA, Calif. – Pasadena FCU will celebrate its 75th anniversary with its first commissioned artwork Thursday in the lobby – a 90-square-foot mural, “Building Pasadena,” painted by Art Center College of Design alumnus Jerry Ortega.

“For our 75th anniversary we wanted to try to do something to reinforce our relationships in the community,” said credit union spokesman John Schaefer.  “We had a relationship with Art Center, and there was a big wall in the lobby crying out for decoration of some sort ...It's the perfect place.”

Artist Jerry Ortega, an artistic director and television set designer chosen from 11 Art Center alumni, said the commission was an opportunity to create his own vision.
