PALO ALTO, Calif. - (03/24/06) -- Money transfer service PayPal isgearing up to allow customers send money or order and pay forproducts by text messaging from a cell phone. PayPal, a unit ofonline auction house eBay, will allow cell phone users send a textmessage with instructions to send money to another person, using acell phone number to identify the recipient. The recipient will benotified by PayPal of the transaction and will be instructed how toclaim the money. The service, called PayPal Mobile, will alsoinclude a new service call Text to Buy, which will require aspecial PayPal account to offer pay-by-text messaging.
