SEATTLE – Police shot a robbery suspect in the hand yesterday afternoon when he tried to ram officers with his vehicle – after a car chase at speeds up to 100 miles an hour.

The man is suspected of robbing a Qualstar CU branch at approximately 11:55 a.m. A police officer on patrol saw the suspect’s vehicle and chased it on Interstate 90 to Mercer Island.
The suspect pulled his car into a driveway, at which point additional officers arrived and blocked his vehicle. When the man rammed the police cars with his vehicle, he was shot in the hand.
The car driven by the suspect had been stolen. It has been used in several area bank robberies in recent weeks, according to police.
