TNB Buys Three Card Portfolios

DALLAS-Three Texas-based credit unions have sold their credit card portfolios to TNB Card Services. Reed Credit Union, Members Choice of Central Texas Credit Union, and General Technologies have agreed to sell their cards to TNB Card Services, which is owned by credit unions. Southwest Expands To New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.-On the heels of double-digit check volume growth in 2002, Southwest Corporate FCU has expanded its item processing operations in New Mexico. Southwest Corporate said it has completed the acquisition of the check processing business previously operated by Sandia Laboratory FCU. The operation currently provides processing for seven Northern New Mexico credit unions that account for more than 1.2-million checks per month. Southwest Corporate officials said efforts are underway to offer the service to additional credit unions. "We will let credit unions that currently process with the Federal Reserve or local banks know that they have a credit union option," said Jody Beck, senior VP-operations at Southwest Corporate.

Digital Retains Marketing Agency

BOSTON-Cronin|Wallwork Curry (CWC), a full-service marketing communications agency, has been retained by Marlborough, Mass-based Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU) to help position the DCU brand and support the credit union's plans for expansion.

The branding initiative will include an integrated marketing communications campaign. "Even though DCU has been very successful over the last several years, not enough consumers know about us or how they can benefit by allowing us to serve them. We felt a new branding campaign would be the best way to get the word out," said Tim Garner, VP- marketing/strategic planning of DCU.
