Profits Fall At Fair Isaac

MINNEAPOLIS – Fair Isaac & Co., the maker of the ubiquitous FICO score, reported a 16% decline in net income for its fiscal fourth quarter, amid a 10% drop in fourth quarter revenues.

Net income for the fourth quarter was $23.8 million, or 49 cents a share, down from $28.2 million, or 52 cents a share, for the same period last year. Fourth quarter revenues were $178.2 million, compared to $198.7 million last year.

Fair Isaac reported a drop in revenues across its product lines for the fourth quarter, including strategy machines, scoring solutions, professional services and analytic software tools.

For the fiscal year, Fair Isaac reported a 4% decline in revenues, to $744.8 million, and a 20% drop in net income, to $84 million, or $1.70 a share.
