APPLETON, Wis. – Ken Eiden, the president of Prospera CU who introduced the popular GoodMoney payday loan program imitated by credit unions around the country, is retiring from the $150 million credit union.
Eiden, who turns 63 next month, has headed the credit union, once known as Batna Community CU, since 1987. Shelia Schinke, the credit union’s chief operating officer, has been named interim CEO while the board searches for a permanent successor. Schinke has worked closely with Eiden for more than 20 years at Prospera.
Under Eiden. Prospera created GoodMoney, the payday loan program it introduced in area Goodwill stores. The program has since been adopted by other credit unions under license from Prospera.
