BOSTON – A serial robber known for a puffy winter jacket he wears is wanted in connection with eight Bay State robberies, five of them at metro area credit unions since Oct. 29.
In seven of the robberies, the man has passed a note threatening the use of a gun. In one robbery, a small black handgun was displayed. In several of the robberies, the man is seen using a black and silver cell phone and carrying a dark messenger bag or laptop bag.
The serial robber, known as the “Puffy Jacket Bandit,” is believed responsible for recent hold-ups at Randolph FCU in Randolph, University CU in Brookline, First Trade CU in South Boston, Bridgewater CU in Quincy, Boston Credit Union in Dorchester and three local banks.
