SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Redwood CU completed its 2009 United Way campaign, with a contribution of $77,894, exceeding its goal of $70,000.
Credit union employees and volunteers participate in the United Way campaign each fall to raise funds for non-profit organizations throughout the Bay Area. This year, at the request of United Way, Redwood ran their campaign a month early to act as a pacesetter for other local companies.
Redwood raised over $73,000 for the United Way of the Wine Country – where the credit union is headquartered and – and over $4,700 for United Way of the Bay Area, serving Napa, Marin and San Francisco counties, where the credit union has several branches.
The credit union offered several unique incentives to encourage employees to contribute: weekly prize raffles, casual days, ice cream parties for branches and departments with full participation, and a drawing to win lunch with Redwood’s executive team.
