DALLAS – Resource One CU is searching for a young spokesperson who will represent the credit union and its new MyLifeMyMoney suite of deposit and loan products targeted at Generation Y, the 18-to-34 year-olds.
The new product suite is being launched next week in conjunction with a spokesman, or "spokester," competition eligible to all Dallas or Northwest Harris County (Houston) residents between the ages of 18 and 34.
Resource One is billing the competition as American Idol meets The Apprentice. The candidate with the most votes will be selected as the MyLifeMyMoney "spokester" on October 31.
The age-appropriate pitch-man or pitch-woman will help create viral buzz and drive traffic to the $250 million credit union’s new MyLifeMyMoney website. The winner gets use of a Toyota Scion, a phone, laptop, video camera and part time salary for a year.
Contestants will submit a 500-word blog and video online during Phase I of the competition. During Phase II, Resource One will select the top finalists who will then solicit votes from their community of peers. Top candidates will then demonstrate their ability to create viral buzz by creating campaigns to drive the most votes to the MyLifeMyMoney website.
