COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Authorities have traced a credit card breach that has caused at least three large area credit unions to reissue thousands of cards to Cheers Liquor Mart, where hackers apparently gained access to the company’s computer system last month.
Officials with the liquor retailer admitted the breach last week, which was traced by an independent security firm, Cyposis LLC, of Denver. The company is working with authorities to determine who is responsible for the breach.
Ent FCU, Security Service FCU and Air Academy FCU began notifying affected cardholders of the breech after detecting suspicious transactions on their cards.
